Porthtowan                              Green                        Records: Before the first little chapel was built
in 1820, local Methodists sometimes met under
a cherry tree - hence the design of our logo. Still

Wall MC                                                                        Records: Wall Methodist Church - John Wesley
preached at Wall in 1747. The present church
was built in 1829 when the society was already
well established. Later the school building was
built next door, catering for over 100 pupils
from the surrounding villages. This continued as
the village school until the building of the
County School in Gwinear in the 1930s - and
one of our members can still remember the
event!
