The Will of Anthony Williams Clerk of Treneere (Penzance Parish of Madron) 1815

In the Name of God Amen I Anthony Williams of Treneere in the County of Cornwall Clerk do make and
declare this my last Will and Testament in manner following I bequeath my Soul into the hands of Almighty
God hoping and believing a remission of my Sins by the merits and mediation of Jesus Christ and my Body I
commit to the Earth to be buried at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named and my Worldly
goods and Estate I give and devise as follows first I give devise bequeath direct limit and appoint unto my
good Friend the Revd Thomas Pascoe Vicar of St Hillary
in the County of Cornwall and my dear Nephew
John Williams Chilcott of the Town of Truro
in the same County Esquire and the Survivor of them and his
Heirs all and singular my Freehold Messuages Lands Tenements Heredits and premis in Treneere in the
parish of Madron
and County aforesaid and also one parcel of land being part of the Fields called the
Cannegoes Adjoining to Treneere and also all my Freehold Messuages Lands Tennements Heredits. And
Premises in Kerrow Cornelloe in the parish of Zennor and County aforesaid and also all my Freehold
Messuages Lands Tenements Heredits. And premises in Roselyden and Cornhills in the parish of Wendron
and County aforesaid being formerly part of the Manor of Helstone in Kerrier parte of the Anceint Dutchy
of Cornwall
to hold to them ye said Revd Thomas Pascoe and John Williams Chilcott and the Survivor of
them & his Heirs to for and upon the several uses trusts intents and purposes hereinafter limited expressed
and declared of and concerning the same that is to say to the use of my dearly beloved Wife Deborah
Williams for and during the term of her natural life
and from and after her decease then as to for and
concerning all those my aforesaid Freehold Messuages Lands Tenements Heredits and premises in
Treneere and the parcel of Land being part of the Carnigoes and Cornehollis in Wendron aforesaid to the
use of my daughter Deborah Tremenheere for and during the term of her natural life and from and after
the determination of that Estate
to the use and behoof of the said Revd Thomas Pascoe and John Williams
Chilcott and the Survivor of them and his Heirs during the natural life of my said daughter Deborah
Tremenheer in trust to support the contingent uses and Estates hereinafter limited from being defeated or
destroyed and for that purpose to make entries and bring Actions as occasion may require but in trust
nevertheless to permit and suffer my said daughter Deborah Tremenheere and her assigns to resolve and
take the Rents issues and profits thereof during the term of her natural life and from and after her decease
to the use of my Son in Law Henry Pendarves Tremenheere for and during the term of his natural life and
from and after the determination of that Estate to the use and behoof of the said Revd Thomas Pascoe and
John Williams Chilcott and the Survivor of them and his Heirs during the natural life of the said Henry
Pendarves Tremenheere in trust to support the contingent uses and Estates hereinafter limited from being
defeated or destroyed and for that purpose to make entries and bring actions as occasion may require but
in trust nevertheless to permit and suffer the said Henry Pendarves Tremenheere and his Assigns to resolve
and take the Rents issues and profits thereof during the term of his natural life and from and after his
decease to the right Heirs of my said daughter Deborah Tremenheere for ever and as to for and concerning
all those my aforesaid Freehold Messuage Lands Tenements heredits and premises in Kernow and
Cornelloe in the parish of Zennor and Roselyden in the parish of Wendron to the use of my daughter Peggy
Hockin for and during the term of her natural life
and from and after the determination of that Estate to
the use and behoof of the said Revd Thomas Pascoe and John Williams Chilcott and the Survivor of them
and his heirs during the natural life of my said Daughter Peggy Hocken in trust to support the contingent
uses & estates hereinafter limited from being defeated or destroyed and for that purpose to make entries
and bring Actions as occasion may require in trust nevertheless to permit and suffer my said daughter
Peggy Hockin and her Assigns to receive and take the Rents issues and profits thereof during the term of
her natural life and from and after her decease to the use of my Son in Law the Revd William Hockin for
and during the term of his natural life
and from and after the determination of that Estate to the use and
behoof of the said Rev Thomas Pascoe and John Williams Chilcott and the Survivor of them and his Heirs
during the natural life of the said William Hockin in trust to his Heirs during the natural life of the said
support the contingent uses and Estates hereinafter limited from being defeated or destroyed and for that
purpose to make entries and bring actions as occasion may require but in trust nevertheless to permit and
suffer the said William Hockin and his Assigns to receive and take the Rents issues & profits thereof during
the term of his natural life and from & after his decease to the use of such Child or Children of my said
Daughter Peggy Hockin lawfully begotten
as she my said daughter shall think proper to devise the said
Estates unto and in case my said daughter leaves no will then to such Child or Children of my said daughter
as my said Son in law William Hockin shall think proper to devise ye said estates unto and in default of such
issue then to my right heirs for ever also I give all that moiety or half?endeal as now divided of one

 
Messuage or tenement called or known by the name of Boskarnon in the Parish of St Keverne which I hold
on these lives by my Wife and two daughters of the Rev John Hosken and which is now in the possession of
George Boulden for his life unto my dearly beloved Wife Deborah Williams for and during the term of her
natural life and after her decease to my daughter Deborah Tremenheere and after her decease if she
leaves no Child to my daughter Peggy Hoskin also I give unto my Daughter Deborah Tremenheere one
hundred pound share in the Tontine of the year 1789 in which she is a nominee numbered 1559 first class
also I give unto my daughter Deborah Tremenheere my large China punch Bowl also I give unto my
daughter Peggy Hockin
one hundred pound share in the Tontine of the year 1789 in which she is a nominee
numbered 1558 first class also I give unto my daughter Peggy Hockin my gold Ring which I had in
remembrance of my Brother in Law Gilbert Hele Chilcott
also I give unto my Son in law Henry Pendarves
Tremenheere
one hundred pounds also I give unto my Son in Law William Hockin one hundred pounds also
all my Stock the three per Cent Annuities Reduced which I shall die possessed of I give unto my beloved
Wife Deborah Williams
also all the rest Residue and remainder of my goods Chattels Estate and effects as
well Real as personal not hereinbefore given devised and bequeathed and excepting what I may hereafter
give in a Codicil to this my last will and Testament annexed I do give devise and bequeath unto my beloved
Wife Deborah Williams and I do hereby make & appoint my said Wife whole and sole Executrix and
Residuary Legatee of this my last Will and Testament
hereby revoking all former Wills by me at any time
heretofore made  In Witnes whereof   I the said Anthony Williams have to this my last Will and Testament
subscribed my name and affixed my Seal   Anth Williams SS   Signed Sealed published and declared by the
said Anthony Williams as and for his last Will and Testament in presence of us who have subscribed our
names as Witnesses in his presence and in the presence of each other at his request this 24th day of
February in the year eighteen hundred and fifteen

Whereas I Anthony Williams have made and duly executed my last Will and Testament in writing bearing
date the 24 day of February 1815 now I do hereby declare this present writing to be as a Codicil to my said
Will and direct if same to be annexed thereto and taken as a part thereof I do give unto my Son in Law
Pendarves Tremenheere
all those of my Books which are marked with the Letter D and I do give unto my
Son in Law the Revd William Hockin
all those of my Books which are marked with the letter P and all my
Latin and greek books all other Books which are not marked with either of the Letters D and P I give unto
my two Sons in Law to be equally divided between them but not till after ye decease of my Wife unless she
is willing to part with them or any part of them before that period also I give to my Nephew John Williams
Chilcott
the sum of twenty pounds also I give unto my two Nieces Florence and Maria Chilcott five pounds
each also I give unto each of my Grandchildren that shall be living at the time of my decease the sum of
five guineas and whereas by my Will I have given unto my Wife my Household Tenement in St Keverne
being part of Boskamon now in the possession of George Boulden during ye term of her natural life and
after her decease to my daughter Deborah Tremenheere during of the term of her natural life & after her
decease if she leaves no Child to my daughter Peggy Hockin I do hereby revoke that part of my Will and do
give the said Tenement of Boskamon in manner following that is to say I give it to my Wife for ye term of
her natural life and after her decease to my daughter Deborah Tremenheere for her natural life and after
her decease to my Son in Law Henry endarves Tremenheere for the natural life and then after his decease
if he leaves no Child by my daughter Deborah Tremenheere to my daughter Peggy Hockin
In Witness
whereof I the said Anthony Williams have to this Codicil set my hand and Seal the 27 th day of September in
the year 1815   Anth: Williams LS   Signed Sealed declared and decl published as and for a Codicil to be
Annexed to his last Will and Testament and be taken as part thereof in the presence of Philip Williams

On the 3 rd Jany 1817 Admon with the Will & Codicil annexed of the Goods Chattels & credits of Anthony
Williams formerly of Nancial????rne? Penzance in the Cy of Cornwall & late of Treneere in the same County
Clerk decd was granted to Peggy Hockin Wife of the Revd William Hockin Clk the natural & lawful daughter
& Administratrix of the Goods of Deborah Williams the sole Extrix & Residuary Legatee named in the sd
Will
having been first sworn by Comon duly to Admr Deborah Williams Widow the relict sole Extrix &
Residy Legatee survived the said deced. and as such died Intestate without having taken upon her the
execution of the sd Will & Codicil
annexed
