The Court of Mr G L Basset, Tehidy was held on Friday. After full suit and service had been duly observed at the Manor-office, a large number of tenantry dined together at the Assembly Rooms, under the presidency of Mr. Cartwright. The dinner was provided by Mr. Joll of the Basset Arms Hotel. The healths of Mr. and Mrs. Basset were drunk with cheers. Mr Cartwright’s health was proposed by Mr James Paull of Rosewarne in com-plimentary terms, and was suitably responded to. Other toasts were drunk, including those of the healths of some of the tenantry and winners of the prizes at the late East Penwith Agricultural Exchange competition for the best kept farms
