MR. W. J. POPE, AT PHILLACK.
When Mr. William John Pope, of Angarrack, Hayle, lost his life in a motor-cycle accident at Grigg's Hill, on Saturday, the sympathy of the whole of Hayle went out to the bereaved family.
Visible expression of that sympathy was shown at the funeral at Phillack Churchyard on Wednesday afternoon, when relative and friends from a wide area were present.
Rev P.E.F. Berry conducted a service at the parish church, and, after officiating at the graveside, spoke movingly of Mr. Pope's death and of the consolation found in the Christian hope of immortality.
