Church is decorated for warden's funeral
REQUIM Mass was said at Redruth Parish Church on Wednesday for the rector's warden for 26 years, Mr. Percy Richard Cromwell Williams. For 26 years he had been captain of the tower. Aged 66, Mr. Williams resided at Copper Hill House, Redruth.
A Freemason for 37 years, he was the third senior past master of Druids Lodge, Redruth, and was DC at his death. He held high rank in other Cornish lodges, and had been granted Grand Lodge and provincial honours.
Mr. Williams was in business as a baker, confectioner and catered in Redruth for 33 years, and since 1943 he had managed a small-holding.
Freemasons formed a guard of honour at the church, which was beautifully decorated for the service. The bells were half-muffled.
RECTOR'S TRIBUTE
A tribute to Mr. Williams's life and service to the church and as a Freemason was said by the Rev. J. Runses?, Rector. He was assisted at the service by the Rev. J. R. Frothers, curate. Mr. J. Williams was cross-bearer, and servers were Messrs. S. Seymour, R Curnow and M. C. Davis.Mr. J. Bradley was organist.
Mourners were Mrs. A. M. Williams (widow), Mr. E. V. Williams (son), Mr. M. Williams (brother), Miss Elizabeth Judge (granddaughter), Messrs. and Mes-dames Butler, J. Knight and Miss J Williams (Nephews and nieces), Messrs. and Mesdames L. Badger, F. Waters, M. Tresidder, A. J. Ford, M. Pascoe, Mr. G. Moyle, Mrs. L. Moyle and Miss J. Moore (cousins), Mr. J. Tresidder (uncle), Mrs. R. Kinsman (aunt), Mr. and Mrs. R. T. Vivian, Mesdames W. H. and R. Williams and G. Osborne (brother-in-law) and sisters-in-law), Mr. V. Smith, WM, and Messrs. W. L. Glasson, L. Smitheram and W. R. Williams, past masters of Druids Lodge, were beareres. Among those present was Mr. C. Andrew, Prev. Grand Sec., rep. Col. E. Perry Morgan, Prev. Grand Master,
