CHARGE AGAINST HAYLE FARMER

Adulterated Milk

At  Plymouth Police Court, on Thurs-day, there were two charges against Edwin Hosking, of Pulsack, Hayle, of sup-plying milk that did not meet the require-ments of the Food and Drugs Act.

Mr. Norman Ruse, chief sanitary in-spector, stated that defendant consigned two nine-gallon churns of milk on June 16th to  Mr. Burt,  Wake-street,   Devon-port, and on arrival at the railway station samples were taken from them.   In one case the public analyst found 11 per cent, deficiency in fat,    and in the other 7 per cent.

Evidence was given by Inspector W. S. Wills.   The same night, he said, he took samples from two churns from the defen-dant, and they were certified genuine.

Defendant did not appear. and a fine of 40s was imposed, with 6s special costs.
