Description
This is a large format booklet published by the auctioneers, Messrs. Hancock & Sons. It contains 12 maps (3 missing in my copy) at various scales, each coloured to show the bounds of the lots. All the property concerned is in the parishes of St. Hilary, Paul, St. Just in Penwith, Madron, Gulval, Phillack, Gwinear and the borough of Penzance and totals about 1,136 acres. Property included was part of the manors of Penzance & St. Just (lots 7 11 and 12), Boskenwyn (lots 1 to 6), Drannack (lots 26 to 45?) and Trezela & Mulfra (lots 8 to 10 and 13 to 25).
Abstract
I am happy to provide full details of any lot to
researchers. All lots were sales of the freehold. In addition
to the notes made by someone attending the auction, there is a
certain amount of Pitman(?) shorthand on the pages which I cannot
read. Note: Some of the images and maps
refer to multiple lots so there will be duplicate references. By
lot number…
