PROPOSED RAILWAY HALTE AT ANGARRACK.

A letter was read from Mr. James Richards, saying that several inhabitants of the neighbourhood had spoken to him on the desirability of having a halte placed at Angarrack as a stopping-place for motor-trains. Some few months ago wrote the general manager of the Great Western Railway Co. (Mr. Inglis) on the matter, and he replied that the matter should have consideration. He (Mr. Richards) now asked the council to petition the G.W.R. on their behalf to provide a halte.—Mr. Porter moved that Mr. Richards' request be acceded  to.—Mr. Luke seconded, and remarked that it would a good thing.—The chairman: It would be a great convenience for Angarrack, but it ought really to be made between that place and Connor Downs.—Mr. Porter's resolution was carried.
