NO WATER FOR ANGARRACK.

The surveyor reported that he had gone into the question of extending the water main to Angarrack and could take it to the back lane for £22 10s. and to Mr. Richard’s gateway, which would supply the major portion of Angarrack, for £40.

Mr. Woodley said he did not think that the revenue from the rates would justify the expenditure they would to make. They had a standpipe there now but the people nearly all went the pump.

Mr. Richards said the question was that the people of Angarrack would have to pay for water or they would not have any.

The Chairman: That is the misfortune of a scattered district like ours.

Mr. Garland said they had been told that the people there did not use the water inasmuch as they went the pump.

The chairman said there was no doubt that the people did not want the water there, and thought it should be left in abeyance for the time.

Mr. Woodley said that no one at Angarrack desired water there and he moved that the matter remain in abeyance for a time.

Mr. J. B. James .seconded, and it was carried.
