Trungle [Trewongle], Trungle, Gwinear

This is the holiday cottage I stayed at while I was away in Cornwall. This is the view you see as you first enter the grounds. The name, Trungle Mill applies to the whole area but it is the first cottage you see 'Old Mill' that I stayed in.

It is believed that the mill and the Miller's cottage were built around the 1880s. The Mill itself was one of four mills powered by the Angarrack stream. In 1920 Trungle Mill was sold by the Rosewarne family to Cornwall County Council to be worked as a small holding for returning soldiers from the first World War. It returned to private ownership in 2002. The Mill itself was renovated in 2006 for holiday use.

The pond was created a few years ago and is a regular home to three Moorhens, fish and tadpoles. There is also a buzzard that sits on a nearby fencepost every morning (I have seen it). There are occasional visits from a Kingfisher and a Heron (not popular with the fish!). Swallows nest in the opposite barn in summer. A footpath nearby takes you to the village of Gwinear.
