The death of Mr. William John Berriman, 9, Foundry-hill, Hayle, took place suddenly on Wednesday morning.

  Mr. Berryman was employed up to a few years ago at Messrs. Harvey and Co., Ltd., as a moulder. He was, up to Monday evening, his usual sell; and then during the night on Tuesday he became very weak, dying early Wednesday morning. He leaves a widow, three sons and two daughters. His eldest son is the Rev. W. Berryman, who is in America; the rest of the family are residing in Hayle. The youngest daughter unmarried and lives at home with her mother.

  The funeral took place at St. Erth. in the absence of the Rev. J. W. Naisbitt, Methodist minister, the Rev. H. Roberts (vicar) officiated.

  The mourners were the widow, Mrs. Berriman, Mr. James Berriman (son), Miss Ida Berriman (daughter), Mr. T. Berriman, Mrs. N. Hollow (sister), Mr. D. Berriman (son). Miss Eileen Berriman, Mr. W. Berriman, Miss Sylvia Berriman, Mr. Berny Richards, Mr. John Hollow, ,Mrs. G. Mitchell, Mr. W. Hollow, Mrs. M. J. Willams (grandchildren); Mr. Hedley Berryman (son-in-law). Mrs. J. Williams, Messrs. B. Hosking, T. Luzmoor, G. . Richards, J. James, G. Tripp (also representing the Misses S. A. and M. Tripp), T. Phillips, Mr. and Mrs. S. Ellis. Messrs. J. Prisk. S. Mitchell, J. Lockett, Roberts, W. Lobb, Mrs. James, Mrs. Downing, Mr. J. Williams, Mr. N. Quinn, Mr. J. Richards, Mr. Trevartheh, Mr. Crowle.. Messrs. H. Millett, H. Richards. P. Richards, G. Morgan, G. Williams and W. Grenfell acted as bearers.

  The floral tributes were numerous and included those from his ever loving Wife; "With thoughts the happy days of a long and devoted life," from Willie and family; from Ida, Mary  and Hedley; from Jim, Tom, Grace, Mary and Sylvia; from Benny and Ethel; Joe Ernie and children, Church-street, Hayle; Eileen, Don and Reg; Gordon Richards; all at Chelnolds and Connor Downs in the family; from the Tripp family. 13, Foundry Hill; Mr. and Mrs. H. Simons, The Laurels, Hayle; Mr. and Mrs. J. James, Foundry Hill; Mr. and Mrs. Harvey, Mill House, Angarrack; Mrs. Bowden and Lil (Highlanes); and others.

  Mrs. Hedley Berryman (daughter) was unable to attend the funeral.

  On the plate was engraved; William John Berriman, died 3rd September, 1941, aged 78 years. Asleep."
