After a comparatively short illness, Mrs Barnes, of Angarrack, wife of Mr. Stephen Barnes, passed away on Tuesday, 20th inst., aged 64 years. She leaves eight children, for whom and her husband, widespread sympathy is felt.

The interment took place at Phillack on Thursday, the Rev. P. E. F. Berry officiating. Messrs. J. Jackson, J. H. Cock, T. H. Rutter, W. Rutter, T. Whear, and W. Whear, were the bearers. The mourners were Mr. S. Barnes and Annie Barnes (husband and daughter), Mr. John H. Barnes and Mrs. Ellis (brother and sister), Mr. W. Roberts and Mrs. Bryant (nephew and daughter), Mr. J. Roberts and Mrs. E. Barnes (cousin and daughter-in-law), and other relatives. There is a daughter (Mrs. Clemence) and a son (Mr. S. Barnes) in Ironwood, Michigan. Messrs. E. T. Coombe and Son, were the undertakers.
