Treliske, Truro

Tree: AHP

Notes:

The settlement of Treliske is recorded in 1302 when it is spelt

"Loscoes" (b1). As the early spelling indicates, Treliske does not

contain the Cornish place-name element tre, 'farmstead, estate', but is

derived from los meaning 'grey', and cos meaning 'wood' (b2).   The site

of Treliske is now occupied by a preparatory school and golf course

(b3).
