Mitchell was variously known as Villa Mychell, Medershole, Modishole,
Michell and St Michaels; was once on main A30 trunk road, the
old highway through Cornwall, and is partly in St Enoder Parish and
partly in the Parish of St Newlyn East; some people have
already recorded the history of Mitchell fair and its market which
started way back in the 1200s.
