George Horace Johnstone was born on 8 January 1882.2 He was the son of John Heywood Johnstone and Josephine Wells.1,3 He married Alison Raffles-Flint, daughter of Venerable Stamford Raffles Raffles-Flint and Ethel Maud Quentin, on 23 June 1910.2 He died on 29 January 1960 at age 78.1
He was educated at Radley College, Radley, Oxfordshire, England.2 He was educated at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Cornwall.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Cornwall.2 He gained the rank of Staff Captain.2 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Cornwall in 1926.2 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1942.2 He lived at Trewithen, Cornwall, England.2
